Our favorite new passion is re-inventing vintage luggage. We have both always loved old luggage. It has a certain sex appeal. Is it their history? Is it their shapes and colors? Is it just that they are old and look cool. My favorite is the oldest one, a small train case made of leather. The inside was stinky and stained, so I ripped it all out and recovered it in a t-shirt from goodwill. It's wonderful and I love it! Cristy's favorite is a funky green one that she lined with a montage of pictures cut from 1960's LIFE magazines. It's a great tribute to a memorable decade. It's going to be hard to part with both of these, but they and the rest of our favorites are now the beginnings of PEACE TRAVELER, our shop on Etsy (www.peacetraveler.etsy.com). We are enjoying using our creative skills and hope others will love the luggage.

Canton & Etsy, here we come!
Canton, Texas, famous home of First Monday Trade Days. Cristy and I had our first booth there last month. It was very successful in our eyes and we were ready to jump in with both feet. So we've spent the last month searching estate sales, garage sales and thrift stores for just the perfect pieces. So here we are again, at Canton for our second adventure in a field filled with tents and treasures. We are excited about the possibilities!
